Dissette Animal Hospital In the Community

Dr. Derek and his family have lived in Bradford for many years and have always donated generously to local groups and events dear to our hearts. Here are just some of the organizations we continuously sponsor throughout the year:

South Simcoe Police Canine Unit: Dr. Derek donates his services to care for the 4 legged police officers protecting our community. He has many years of experience in this area while previously working at emergency/critical care hospitals.

SafePet :  We provide temporary shelter and veterinary care for pets of women staying at VAW shelters.  This program is dedicated to assisting women in leaving abusive partners by providing temporary housing and care for their pets.   Nearly 50% of Ontario women who have left an abusive partner said that their pets delayed their decision to leave. For more information about this program visit:  http://www.ovma.org/pet_owners/safepet.html

Farley Foundation:  The Farley Foundation assists people in Ontario who are on government assistance by subsidizing the cost of veterinary care for their sick/injured pets. www.farleyfoundation.org

Bradford Minor Hockey:  The Dissette Animal hospital sponsors both rep and house league teams each year for over 10 years.  We also sponsor golf tournaments and donate to many other team & individual fundraisers regularly.

Bradford Minor Baseball Association:  We sponsor one house league team each summer, you can usually follow the excitement on Bradfordtoday.ca.

Simcoe County Children's Aid Society:  Every year at Christmas we sponsor one or two families in hopes of making a Bradford family's holiday memorable.

Scanlon Creek Bark Park:  Our donations helped to create the park for your furry friends to run off some energy.

Service Dogs:  We offer complimentary exams for service dogs.

Co-operative Education - high school and college:  Every year we participate in the local high school co-op programs and the college Veterinary Technician co-op programs.
