Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help to avoid serious health problems.

We use extended vaccination protocols tailored to the individual patient based on the most current information available.

Half Hour Appointments:  we only book half hour appointments which means you will never feel rushed with your questions and unless we have an emergency, this allows us to stay on schedule minimizing the chances of waiting.

Vaccines:  we use an extended vaccination protocol, which means your pets are being properly protected without vaccinating every year.  

Surgical Services:  We are equipped to perform most routine and emergency surgeries ranging from spay/neuter to exploratory surgery.  Surgery FAQ's.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include thorough dental cleaning and polishing, digital dental radiography, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
   
Anesthesia and pain management:  We utilize up-to-date anesthetic agents and protocols tailored to each individual patient to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Your pets' vital signs are carefully monitored by Dr. Boughner and a qualified veterinary technician as well as monitoring equipment during all anesthetic procedures.

We take pain management very seriously. Our patients are provided with pain control prior to, during and after all surgical procedures. Patient comfort is a priority for us.    
   
Radiology & Ultrasound Services:  Our on-site x-ray and ultrasound equipment provide high quality images to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as referral consultations to cardiology specialists.
      
Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide rapid results for bloodwork, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
    
Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification.  We are also able to scan animals for an existing microchip free of charge in an effort to reunite missing pets with their owners.
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a large inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Dietary Counselling:  We provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioural Counselling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Service Dogs:  In order to ease the expense of owning a service dog, we offer complimentary examinations for certified service dogs.  Please keep in mind that documentation may be required.

End of Life/Euthanasia:  Sadly we usually outlive our pets and often the time comes to part with our dear family members.  Dr. Boughner and his staff are here to advise & support you with this difficult decision.  Dr. Boughner and his family have recently had to say good bye to their 22 year old cat, Kiefer, so we know how difficult this can be on both adults and children.   We also offer several memorial options to remember your beloved pet. 

Emergency Care:  In case of an emergency during our regular office hours, please call us first and then bring your pet in as soon as possible so we can administer treatment quickly to achieve the best possible results.
