Dr. Derek Boughner

Dr. Derek graduated from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the University of Guelph in 1998.  After 8 years of experience in both a busy emergency/critical care practice and day practice, he opened the Dissette Animal Hospital in 2005.  He has a particular interest in ultrasound and emergency/critical care.

Dr. Derek and his family have lived in Bradford for many years.  When he's not at work you can often find him at the hockey rink cheering on the Bradford Bulldogs Minor Midget A team which he manages and his son Matthew plays on.

He enjoys playing hockey, most outdoor activities and spending time with his wife, children and many pets; Sammy the cat and two dogs, Misa (pictured on the left) , Chuggy and an axylotl named Comet.

Kristen Dissette Animal Hospital Bradford

Kristen graduated from Georgian College and joined our team when we opened in 2005 and has been with us ever since.

Kristen and her husband Scott live in Bradford and have three beautiful girls.  They share their home with Harry, a chocolate lab, a cat named Buffy and Bugsy the bunny.

We look forward to having Kristen back in September after her maternity leave for her third child comes to an end.

Jamie Dissette Animal Hospital Bradford

Veterinary Technician, Georgian College

Jamie graduated from Georgian College and joined our practice in 2011.

He is a big fan of body art (as you can see) and spends a lot of his free time mountain biking.

He has two cats, Lucifer and now Tucker.  He has adopted our guard cat, Tucker from the clinic.

Tamika Dissette Animal Hospital Bradford

Veterinary Technician, Georgian College

Tamika joined our team as a full time Veterinary Technician in April 2016.

Sarah Dissette Animal Hospital Bradford

Veterinary Technician, Seneca College

Sarah joined the team in January 2016. She graduated Seneca College in 2014 and has been working at various emergency clinics ever since.

She was born and raised in Bradford and now lives just outside of town.

So far, Sarah only has one cat named Oliver or "Ollie" for short.

When she isn't working, which isn't often, she likes camping, reading and loves to travel.

Stuey Bradford

Stuey (short for Cabbage Stew) showed up, emaciated, injured and afraid near Dr. Boughners house.  It was obvious he needed some serious medical attention. After several hours, we finally gained enough of his trust to get close enough to have a better look at his injuries.  The poor guy even had a collar embedded in his skin.  Stuey most likely escaped as a kitten wearing his collar, and as he grew, his collar did not.

The original plan was to fix Stuey up and adopt him out, however during his long recovery we all fell in love with him and just couldn't let him go.   He is now healthy, happy and spoiled rotten!
